Bart Markel, the legendary motorcycle
racer who won the AMA Grand National Championship three times in the
1960s, died Saturday at his home in Flint, Mich. (See
obituary on AMA Flat Track Championship site.)

"Black Bart" Markel was watched by thousands of fans in this area
and was one of their favorites, according to AMA writer Tor Kovacs.
