The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Oasis potluck and bingo
The senior center's potluck will be on Thursday, beginning at
11:30 a.m. We will feature ribs, special dishes, salads and
wonderful desserts. Bring a dish to pass or a $3 donation. Stay for
bingo games sponsored by Christian Village and our lunch drawing,
sponsored this month by Vintage Fare. Come join the fun and bring a
friend.
Illinois Cares Rx
The Oasis sponsors assistance to seniors with filing their
Illinois Cares Rx, Circuit Breaker grant and license plate discount
(Form 1363) applications by our trained volunteers. If you would
like more information or would like to make an appointment, call the
senior center at 732-6132.
Oasis closed for Lincoln's Birthday
The Oasis will be closed Feb. 12 in observance of Abraham
Lincoln's birthday. We will resume activities the next business day.
Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tuesday's lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Feb. 13 features beef tips over noodles,
green beans, salad, dessert and a drink for only $3.75, or $3.25 if
you stay and play cards. Reservation deadline is noon Friday.
Winners for the week announced
Larry VanBibber and Betty Oltmanns were the weekday pinochle
winners, and the weekend pinochle winners were VanBibber and Esther
Will. The winners at five in one were Betty Burger and Henry
Warnisher. Rummy winner was Dorothy Oltmanns. Congratulations.
