County Events
Feb – Mar
Story Time Classes. Lincoln Public Library District will
hold three different Story Time classes for 6 mon. – 2 year
olds, 3 & 4 year olds, and 5 –7 year olds through the months of
February and March. There is no charge, but registration is
necessary for accurate planning. Call the Youth Services
Department for times and days at 732-5732 or to register.
Feb 3
Logan County Friends of NRA Banquet & Auction.
The NRA would like to invite Logan County to attend their 15th
Annual Banquet and Auction on February 3, 2007 at the Knights of
Columbus Hall. Doors will open at 5:00 PM and dinner will be
served at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $30 each. The Friends of the
NRA are still looking for sponsors for this event. If you, or

This year’s program features live and silent auctions, special
drawings & games featuring guns, exclusive art, unique
merchandise and a great prime rib dinner, served by Warren

Feb 3
Pancake and Sausage Breakfast. Zion Lutheran School will
be holding their Pancake and Sausage Breakfast from 7:00 AM –
2:00 PM. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. Also
at the event will be a meat room, silent auction, and a bake
sale. Carryouts will be available. Call Zion Lutheran School

Blood Drive. Come donate the gift of life at the

Masonic Center (located at 2022 N. Kickapoo Street) from Noon
until 6:00pm. This blood drive is sponsored by Lincoln Rotary
Club. All blood collected at this blood drive supports

Feb 6
Reader’s Theater. Readers Theater is back at the Lincoln
Public Library District! This class for ages 8 – 12 year olds
will be held on Tuesdays from 3:30 – 5:00 PM beginning February
6. A performance will be scheduled at the conclusion of the
sessions.

Craft
Classes.
Lincoln Public Library District will hold Craft Classes for 8 –
12 year olds on Thursdays at 3:30 beginning February 8.
There is no charge, but registration is necessary for accurate
planning. Call the Youth Services Department to register.
Feb 10
Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday Party. Postville Courthouse
will once again be celebrating Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday in
style, and the public is invited to attend! Guy Fraker, a
Bloomington attorney and author will do a power point
presentation on Abraham Lincoln and the 8th Judicial
Circuit. Postville volunteers will be conducting tours and will
be serving birthday cake and punch. Period music will be
playing throughout the event, and storyteller/musician Mike
Anderson will also perform. The Arts and Craft Guild will have
their children’s event from 10 AM to 12 PM in the historic
courtroom. Contest winners will also be announced. Abraham and
Mary Todd Lincoln interpreters will be on hand to greet you.
The hours for the event are 10 AM to 4 PM. This event is free
to the public, but donations will be accepted. For more

Looking for
Lincoln
Dinner.
Come out to the Maple Club to celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s
Birthday with this wonderful dinner! The Looking for Lincoln
Dinner will start at 6:30 PM, and tickets will be on sale soon
at Lincoln College, Main Street Lincoln, and the Abraham Lincoln
Tourism Bureau of Logan County. This year’s speaker is Mr. Dan
Weinberg, the owner of the Abraham Lincoln Bookstore in Chicago,
IL. He has written books on the subject, and will be discussing
some of the odd items that he has run across in his business.
Mr. Weinberg also serves alongside Ron Keller and Paul Beaver as
an advisory member of the Bicentennial Commission. For more

Mystery Ink: Mardi Gras Madness. Join the Mystery Ink
Players for a Mardi Gras celebration with a little madness,
music, food and mystery. Sunday doors open at 6:30 PM, Sunday
doors open at 1:00 PM. Tickets are $35 per person, $32 for
Seniors. Groups of 10 or more may receive the group rate of $30
per person. Tickets include fresh baked bread, salad, choice of
entrée, and dessert as well as coffee/tea, tax and gratuity. A

Coin Show. The Railsplitter Coin Club will be hosting
their Spring Coin Show on Saturday, March 3, 2007. Admission is
free, and it will be held at Rusty’s Clubhouse and Grill (2810
Woodlawn Road, Lincoln). Rusty’s will have their full menu
available. The show begins at 9:00 AM and will end at 4:00 PM.
So if you’re interested in picking up some nifty coins for your
collection, or just finding out what makes the art of coin
collecting so much fun, come out to Rusty’s for the Spring Coin

Kiwanis Club Annual Ham and Bean Dinner. Held at the
American Legion Hall (1740 Fifth St., Lincoln) from 11 AM to 3
PM, tickets are $6.50 per person for adults. Children 6 and

will be held at the Laughlin Center, Lincoln Christian College.

Night.

of fun! CIEDC is hosting a “Cheeseburger in Paradise” night at
