The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Soup's on The Oasis is serving soup this week on Wednesday
and Thursday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The donation is 50 cents per
bowl.
Extension to sponsor bingo
The Logan County Extension Unit will sponsor the regular Thursday
bingo games at 1 p.m. The prizes are food items for the winners to
enjoy.
Board meeting is open to public
The Oasis board meets at 5 p.m. Thursday, and the meeting is open
to the public. To schedule agenda items, the board must receive
notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the month
prior to a meeting date.

Oasis closed for Washington's Birthday
The Oasis will be closed Monday in observance of George
Washington's Birthday. The senior center will resume activities the
following business day.
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Feb. 20 features broccoli-cheese soup,
chicken salad sandwich, carrot and celery sticks, dessert, and a
drink for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards.
Reservation deadline is noon Friday.
Winners for the week announced
Betty Oltmanns and Larry VanBibber were the weekday pinochle
winners, and the weekend pinochle winners were Helen Cart and
Marjorie Reiners. Winners at five in one were Linda Hughes and Ann
Chromiaka. Congratulations.
