[June 22, 2007]  DECATUR -- The Illinois Women's Golf Association 74th State Amateur Championship has been in progress at the Red Tail Run Golf Club this week. Quarterfinal and semifinal match play results on Thursday were as follows:

Championship flight quarterfinals

• Seul-Ki Park defeated Jan Bowers 5 and 4.

• Hilary Anderson defeated Mary Kay Thanos-Zordani 5 and 3.

• Kerry Postillion defeated Laura Carson 4 and 3.

• Stacey Miller defeated Ana North 5 and 3.

First flight quarterfinals

• DeAnne Stolarik defeated Salley Wessels 2 and 1.

• Lauren May defeated Wendy Evans 6 and 5.

• Casey Burden defeated Katie O'Donnell 5 and 4.

• Monica Von Glahn defeated J.J. Flynn 3 and 2.

Championship flight semifinals

• Hilary Anderson defeated Seul-Ki Park 1 up.

• Kerry Postillion defeated Stacey Miller 1 up.

First flight semifinals

• Monica Von Glahn defeated Casey Burden 3 and 2.

• DeAnne Stolarik defeated Lauren May 1 up.

Second flight semifinals

• Nicole Inkel-Pongracz defeated Kim Bailey 1-up on 19.

• Lindsey Haines defeated Katherine Hepler 4 and 3.

Third flight semifinals

• Lindsay Burry defeated Amy St. John 5 and 3.

• Mandi Vavrinchik defeated Eleanor Costello 4 and 3.

Fourth flight semifinals

• Kathy Niepagen defeated Colleen Dold 2 and 1.

• Jackie Schwarz defeated Christine King 3 and 2.

Fifth flight semifinals

• Erin Bradley defeated Joann Ryan 2 and 1.

• Erin McGinnis defeated Jaime Reints 3 and 2.

The final round began Friday with the fifth flight teeing off at 8 a. m., the fourth at 8:20 a.m., the third at 8:30 a.m. and second at 8:40 a.m. The first flight final between DeAnne Stolarik and Moncia Von Glahn began at 9 a.m.

The championship match between Hilary Anderson, Decatur, who twice won the Junior Girls' State Amateur Championship (2001, 2003), and Kerry Postillion, Burr Ridge, four-time State Am Champion (1995, 1996, 1999, 2004), started at 9:20 a.m.

Designed by Ray Floyd and opened for play last year, Red Tail Run will play 5,777 yards with a rating of 72.3 and slope of 123.
