The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension to sponsor bingo The Logan County Extension Unit
will sponsor the regular Thursday bingo games that begin at 1 p.m.
Come join the fun and win food items!
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the
library at The Oasis. No reservation is necessary. The group
provides support and information for caregivers and extended family
and is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Senior Health Insurance Program
The Oasis, with the Senior Health Insurance Program, sponsors
assistance to seniors. The volunteers are trained by the Department
of Insurance to guide you through problems involving Medicare,
Medicare supplement, long-term care insurance, retiree health plans,
claims processing and appealing denied claims. The free
service is offered every Thursday between 2 and 3:30 p.m. To
schedule an appointment, please call 732-6132.
Oasis board meeting
The Oasis board meeting on Thursday begins at 5 p.m. and is open
to the public. To schedule anything on the agenda, the board must
receive notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the
month prior to a meeting date.

March birthday party
Birthday time! Come celebrate March birthdays with us at The
Oasis on Monday at 1:30 p.m. There will be games, prizes,
entertainment, and cake and ice cream. Come join the fun and bring a
guest.
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for March 20 features hot turkey sandwich,
mashed potatoes, carrots, dessert and a drink for only $3.75, or
$3.25 if you stay and play cards. Reservation deadline is Monday
noon.
Winners for the week announced
Eleanor Barton and Alice Petro were the weekday pinochle winners.
Larry VanBibber and Bernie Haley were the weekend winners for
pinochle. Linda Hughes and Bernie DePuy won at five-in-one. The
rummy winners were Betty Burger, Ruth Barry and Dorothy Oltmanns.
