[May 05, 2007]  The following recalls were issued April 29 to May 3 by various federal and state agencies.

GRILLS SOLD AT BIG LOT STORES CAN OVERHEAT

Char-Broil LLC is recalling Two-Burner Gas Grills Model 463720407 sold at Big Lot Stores from January 2007 to March 2007. The recalled grills could have an incorrect heat shield that does not fit the grills. Without the correct heat shield, the propane tank, hose and regulator could overheat and damage these components, presenting a risk of fire and burn.

Only Char-Broil gas grills with model number 463720407 are included in the recall. Char-Broil's logo is on the top of the lid of the grill. The serial number is located on the white rating label on the back of the upper front panel of the grill. The serial numbers range from G305040611002821 to G305040611003420.

PAYLESS CHILDREN'S CLOGS POSE CHOKING HAZARD

Payless ShoeSource Inc. is recalling Children's Airwalk® Compel Shoes sold nationwide from August 2006 to April 2007. Plastic rivets used to attach the strap to the shoe can detach, posing a choking hazard.

This recall involves Airwalk® Compel clog shoes sold in pre-walk sizes 3 through toddler size 10. The flexible shoes have air ventilation holes on the top and side and plastic rivets with the Airwalk® logo attached to the strap. Airwalk® and the shoe size are printed on the sole of the shoe.

Consumers should return the clogs to the store where purchased for a refund or exchange.

CHIILDREN'S NECKLACES CONTAIN LEAD

Oriental Trading Company Inc. is recalling Children's Religious Fish Necklaces sold nationwide from January 2005 to January 2007. The recalled children's necklaces contain high levels of lead.

The recalled necklaces have a silver fish pendant that hangs from a black cord.

GAMES SOLD AT TARGET CONTAIN LEAD

Target is recalling Anima-Bamboo Collection Games sold nationwide at Target stores from December 2006 to January 2007. The toys in the bamboo game sets could contain lead paint.

This recall involves Anima-Bamboo Collection Games. The games contain 38 bamboo pads, four ghosts and one dice. The product's packaging is an orange box with the words "Anima" and "BAMBOO Collection Games" printed on each side.

Consumers should return the game to the nearest Target store for full refund.

CHILDREN'S BLOCK TOWERS POSE CHOKING HAZARD

Graco Children's Products is recalling Soft Blocks Tower Toys (on Graco® Baby Einstein® discover and play™ Activity Centers) sold nationwide from February 2005 to December 2005. The plastic covering on the soft block towers can detach, posing a choking hazard.

The soft block tower is a stack of three different shaped stuffed fabric blocks in red, yellow and blue. The soft blocks are one of nine toys that snap onto the tray of the activity center. Only model number 4635BEE with serial numbers 012705 through 063005, which indicates the manufacture dates of Jan. 27, 2005, through June 30, 2005, are included in this recall. Model and serial numbers are located underneath the activity center's tray.

PETER PAN PEANUT BUTTER MAY BE CONTAMINATED WITH SALMONELLA

Approximately 326,000,000 pounds of Peter Pan Peanut Butter products distributed nationwide and internationally may be contaminated with salmonella. Some included in the recall are:

SPAS CAN OVERHEAT

Coast Spas and Franklin Electric Co. are recalling Coast Spas with Franklin Electric Motors sold nationwide from January 2002 to October 2004. The recalled spas have a circulating pump and motor assembly, which can overheat and pose a fire hazard.

The recalled spas were manufactured from January 2002 through October 2004. Only spas manufactured during this time frame with either red or yellow pump and motor assemblies are included in this recall. The spa manufacturer's name and date code and the pump and motor assembly can be located in the spa compartment. Consumers can access this compartment by lifting out the compartment door and setting it aside.

ATVS LACK SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Stateside Powersports is recalling Long Chang Lion 90cc All-Terrain Vehicles sold nationwide from May 2006 to December 2006. The ATVs lack adequate tire labeling, tire pressure gauge, adequate stop engine switch and other safety requirements, which could result in injury.

The recall includes all Long Chang Lion 90cc ATVs sold in black, blue, green and red. "Lion" is printed on the side of the gas tank and "90" is printed below the seat area on each side of the ATV.

TOY PHONES SOLD BY TARGET POSE CHOKING HAZARD

Battat Inc. is recalling Parents® Magazine Record-A-Voice Toy Cell Phones sold nationwide at Target stores from September 2006 to January 2007. The metal pin inside the hinge of the cell phone flip-top can fall out, posing a choking hazard.

The toy cell phone plays different songs, sound effects and user recorded messages. The Parents® logo is visible inside the flip-top and on the battery compartment cover. Only items bearing date codes 090106 through 101206 are involved in this recall. The date code can be located on the bottom of the product packaging and in the battery compartment.

TOY TOWNHOUSES POSE CHOKING HAZARD

Small World Toys is recalling IQ Preschool™ Take-Apart Townhouses sold nationwide from December 2004 to February 2007. Small magnets used to connect the wooden pieces to the sides of the townhouse can fall out. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal.

These wooden toys, for children ages "18+ months," are shaped like houses measuring 8.5 inches high by about 4.5 inches wide. "IQ Preschool™" appears on the side of the house below the blue and green rectangular panel. Model number 2408808 appears on the packaging.
