Betty J. Gaffney, 82, of Lincoln died
Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at 5:47 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Peasley Funeral
Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the
funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Peters officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
Mrs. Gaffney
retired from Lincoln Development Center as an
activity director in March 1978. She did volunteer
work at the Pink Shutter and for the Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She was born Feb. 6, 1925, in Pekin to Carl and
Elizabeth Bruce Andrae. She married Jeff J.
Springer; he preceded her in death in November 1977.
She later married Edwin S. Gaffney on April 1, 1978.
He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 2006.
She is survived by her children, Jim (and Cindy)
Springer of Lincoln and Dianna Hilligos of Carefree,
Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
