LCC soccer vs. MacMurray

[October 05, 2007]  JACKSONVILLE -- Trailing 5-2 with 29 minutes left in the game, the Lincoln Christian College Preachers rallied for a double overtime 6-5 win in soccer over MacMurray College in Jacksonville on Thursday afternoon.

Two goals by Sam Rosa and one by Wesley Schrader tied the game, and after a scoreless 10-minute overtime, the Preachers prevailed in the second overtime, when Rosa scored on a corner kick to secure the win. John Merritt also had two goals during the regulation play.

The Preachers have now won their last two contests to bring their record to 2-8 overall and 2-5 in the SLIAC.

LCC will host Principia at 2 p.m. Saturday.
