Catherine Bristow

[September 11, 2007]  WAYNESVILLE -- Catherine Virgilene Bristow, 75, of Waynesville died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at 7 p.m. at her home.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Curt Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville.

Mrs. Bristow was librarian at Waynesville Township Library and assistant librarian for the Illinois Department of Corrections.

She was born Aug. 1, 1932, in Boyton Township. She married John Edward Foust on Aug. 28, 1948, and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1951. She married Eldon Richard Bristow on Feb. 9, 1952, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1988.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne (and Paul) Spencer of Waynesville and Marie (and Bruce) Johnston of Beason; one son, Austin "Jack" (and Lori) Bristow of Pontiac; two brothers, Virgil (and Delores) Robison of Delavan and Kenneth (and Alice) Robison of Atlanta; one sister, Virginia (and Chris) Litwiller of Booneville, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Catharine Johnson Robison and Bernadine Williams Robison, and her grandparents who raised her, Austin and Mollie Robison.

She was a member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Waynesville Township Library.
