Preachers Get Into the Win Column

[April 02, 2008]  Lincoln Christian College Preachers registered their first win of the season, giving Les Evans his first victory as a college head coach, in defeating MacMurray College in the second game of a doubleheader Tuesday.

In the 12-11 victory, Alex Bond was the winning pitcher and Richard Weese was given credit for the save. Weese also led the Preachers in hitting, going 3-for-4 with one RBI, and he received help from Nolan Recker, who was 2-for-4 and had two RBIs.

The Preachers dropped the first game by a 7-6 margin. Dan Maricle had a home run in that game. Richard Weese was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Kevin Lucas went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

The win moves the Preachers to 1-7 looking forward to playing at Principia this Friday and Saturday.
