[April 21, 2008]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Louise F. Awe, 96, of Mount Pulaski, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at 3:30 a.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Mark Drews officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mrs. Awe was a retired schoolteacher.

She was born June 17, 1911, in Mount Pulaski to Henry and Ida Schaffenacker Mayer. She married Albert Awe in Mount Pulaski on Feb. 12, 1949. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1985.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Awe of Pekin and Donald (and Sharon) Awe of Elkhart; three daughters, Doris (and the Rev. Martin) Mappes of Georgetown, Ind., Ruth (and James) Hodgin of South Port, N.C., and Vera (and Robert) McClure of Peotone; one sister, Bernice Homerin of Carmichael, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one grandchild, one great-grandchild and one nephew.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski.

Memorials may be made to her church or to Zion Lutheran School in Mount Pulaski.
