[August 05, 2008]  ATLANTA -- Dwight Frederick Conaway, 75, of Atlanta, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at 11:07 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Private funeral services are scheduled.

Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery, rural Atlanta.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Conaway was a machinist at the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. He retired from Logan Correctional Center as an engineer.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was born June 24, 1933, in Mount Pulaski to Ralph and Blanche Conaway. He married Donna W. Hoyle on Nov. 26, 1955, in Chicago. She preceded him in death on Nov. 2, 2006, in Atlanta.

He is survived by his three daughters, Karen (and David) Pearce of Laural, Md., Connie Hoyle of Lincoln and Linda (and Neil) Webster of Lincoln; and four grandchildren, Heather, Dennis Michael, Ricky and Nicholas. Clint Wurth was a special friend who was like the son he never had.

Funeral Director

Mr. Conaway was of the Christian faith.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad or Logan County Paramedic Association.
