Norma Berglin

[August 19, 2008]  Norma Jean Berglin, 81, of Lincoln, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at 9:15 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Henderson officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Berglin retired from Springfield Clinic, where she was a medical file clerk. She had also done clerical work at Ball Incon, Glenn Pontiac, Avery & Comstock, and Eaton Corp.

She was born March 7, 1927, in Lincoln to Harold R. and Wilma A. Shay Ritchhart. She married Jack Berglin on March 10, 1946, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1974.

She is survived by her children, Judy K. (and Ted) Awe of Lincoln, Jerry A. (and Mary) Berglin of Lincoln, John W. (and Beth) Berglin of Des Moines, Iowa, Janice L. (and Don) Sielaff of Lincoln, H. Jay Berglin (and Kalyn) of Lincoln and Joseph M. (and Norma) Berglin of Bryceville, Fla.; one brother, Ronald Ritchhart of Lincoln; three sisters, Nancy (and Richard) Treatch of Middletown, Patricia (and Vernon) Lockenour of Lincoln and Janet "Pete" (and John) Smiley of Lincoln; two sisters-in-law, Mackie Ritchhart of Springfield and Shirley Ritchhart of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Director

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Aaron "Swede" and Jack Ritchhart.

She was a member of Women of the Moose, Cronin Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and Lincoln Women's Bowling Association. She was an avid fan of the Cubs.

Memorials may be made to Abraham Lincoln Healthcare Foundation or the donor's choice.
