Margaret Hoover

[December 15, 2008]  Margaret E. Hoover, 94, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Lincoln, joined her Maker peacefully on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008. She had been living at the Redfield group home in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Union Cemetery, with the Rev. Jame Hahs officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoover worked in various occupations, including the cafeterias at Lincoln College and St. Clara's Manor and as housemother for the Illinois Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's School in Bloomington-Normal.

She was born July 8, 1914, in Chicora, Pa., to Charles and Katherine O'Brien Seybert. She married George William Hoover in 1934, and he preceded her in death in September of 1959.

She is survived by one son, Albert Charles Hoover of Phoenix, Ariz., and one daughter, Julia Ann Hoover of Chicago.

She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral Director

She graduated from East Brady High School, East Brady, Pa. The family moved to Lincoln in October of 1942 with the opening of the Lincoln Glass Bottle Co. factory.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln, to which memorials may be made.
