The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Light lunch bingo Maple Ridge Care Centre will sponsor the
"light lunch bingo" on Thursday. A light lunch will be served at
noon and bingo will follow.
Oasis closed
The Oasis will be closed Feb. 11 and 18 to observe the birthdays
of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Activities will resume the
following day.
Blood pressures
The Oasis offers free blood pressure checks every Friday
between 10 and 11:30 a.m. No reservation necessary.

Tuesday's lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Feb. 12 will feature pasta bake, tossed
salad, bread and butter, and dessert. The suggested donation is
$3.75; or, if you stay to play cards, the suggested cost is $3.25.
The reservation deadline is 4 p.m. Friday.
Bingo at the Rec
For Tuesday night bingo at the Lincoln Rec Center, the computer
special will be "Lincoln Top Hat Night." Each set of four games of
Top Hat purchased will be discounted as follows: $12 computer, up to
$3 off; $16 computer, up to $6 off; and $20 computer, up to $10 off.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Early bird is 5:50 p.m.
Card winners announced
The winners for weekday pinochle were Betty Oltmanns and Eleanor
Barton. Kathy Roos and Linda Hughes were the weekend pinochle
winners. The rummy winner was Dorothy Oltmanns.
