            		ATLANTA -- Charles W. Ballinger, 82, of 
			Atlanta died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at 2:09 p.m. at his home.  |

							Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at 
							Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. His funeral 
							will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 
							with the Rev. Rob Roy officiating.
							 Burial, with military rites, will be in Atlanta 
							Cemetery. 
							Mr. Ballinger was a lifetime farmer in rural 
							Atlanta. 
							During World War II he proudly served his country 
							with the U.S. Marines in Peleliu, Okinawa and 
							occupied Japan. 
							
							He was born May 6, 1925, near Toledo, in 
							Cumberland County, to Tony Otto and Laura Frances 
							Lyster Ballinger. He married Roma Bauer on May 28, 
							1949, in Lincoln. She preceded him in death on Oct. 
							6, 2005, in Lincoln. 
							
							He is survived by his children, Roma (and 
							Richard) Evans of Lockport, Marcia (and Robert) Pipp 
							of Atlanta, Charlisle (and Greg) Morgan of Welcome, 
							N.C., and Charles A. (and Judy) Ballinger of 
							Atlanta; one sister Doris (and Robert) Lefley of 
							Wilmette; seven grandchildren, and five 
							great-grandchildren.  | 
							
							 
                  
							He was also preceded in death by two brothers, 
							Lowell and Elwin Ballinger, and one sister, Leola 
							Donnan. 
							For many years he donated blood to the American 
							Red Cross. 
							In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 
							USMC Wounded Warrior Barracks at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
