Betty Johnson

[January 03, 2008]  Betty D. Johnson, 82, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at 12:12 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Ron Otto officiating.

Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, rural Beason.

Mrs. Johnson retired from Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in 1984 after 19 years as a nurse's aide.

She was born Nov. 10, 1925, in Benton to Riley and Nellie Moss Crider. Her stepfather, Hobert Heady, helped raise her in Beason. She married Curren Johnson on Oct. 20, 1945. He preceded her in death Dec. 1, 1995, after 50 years of marriage.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana (and husband Richard) Burger of Lincoln, and one grandson, Darren Burger of Emden.

She was also preceded in death by two children in infancy and one granddaughter, Lisa A. Burger.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
