NORMAL -- Illinois State
Athletics and WMBD-WYZZ have agreed to televise the Feb. 16 men's
basketball game between Illinois State and Indiana State at the
Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Ind. The Illinois State-Indiana State
game will be shown live on WYZZ (Fox 43). Tipoff is scheduled for 1
p.m. CST.

The game will be the second broadcast by WMBD-WYZZ this season,
joining the Bradley game on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena on
Feb. 9.
With this announcement and the recent agreement with Comcast
Spotlight, ISU could have 11 of its final 14 regular-season games
televised locally. The Feb. 24 BracketBusters game may be selected
to air on one of the ESPN networks, while the March 1 contest at
Southern Illinois is also a possible choice by the Missouri Valley
Conference's television network as part of the league's "Wildcard
Weekend."
"I appreciate the effort by Coby Cooper and his staff to have
this game added to the WYZZ lineup," said ISU Director of Athletics
Dr. Sheahon Zenger. "I understand the difficulties associated with
pre-empting network programming, but value the creativity Coby
continues to exhibit while enhancing our coverage and partnership
with both WMBD and WYZZ."

The addition of the game broadcast is also beneficial for WMBD
and WYZZ.
"We are very excited to be able to expand our ISU basketball
offerings for the central Illinois community this year," Cooper
said. "We enjoy a wonderful relationship with Illinois State
University and the athletics program under Dr. Zenger's leadership.
He is doing outstanding things with the program, and we are very
proud to be a part of his vision."
WMBD sports director Kurt Pegler and former ISU assistant men's
basketball coach Bob Morris will serve as the broadcast team.
WYZZ Fox 43 can be seen on Comcast cable Channel 6 and Mediacom
cable Channel 10, while WMBD 31 is available on Comcast cable
Channel 7 and Mediacom cable Channel 8.
