Taplia 'Junior' Renfrow

ATLANTA -- Taplia R. "Junior" Renfrow,
64, of Atlanta, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 11:27 p.m. at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eminence Christian
Church, with Scott Wolf officiating. |
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at
Quiram Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta and at the
church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mr. Renfrow farmed in Eminence Township for many
years. He owned and operated the Atlanta Garage from
1983 until 1998. He was the Atlanta Township highway
commissioner from 1993 until 2005.
He was born in rural Atlanta on May 4, 1944, to
Taplia Marion and Marie Birkley Renfrow. He married
Cheryl Rademaker on Jan. 29, 1965, in Normal.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jack (and
Betty) Renfrow of Atlanta and David (and Dianna)
Renfrow of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Samantha
Renfrow and A.J. Renfrow of Atlanta, Jessica Morris
of Lincoln, and Jericho (and Jermain) Johnson of
Tifton, Ga.; one brother, Everett Leon (and
Margaret) Renfrow of Atlanta; three sisters, Dorothy
Clenin of Lincoln, Marion (and James) Thompson of
Atlanta and Lucy (and David) Boyer of McLean; and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one
brother, James Renfrow; and one sister, Helen Hayes. |
He was a member of the Eminence Christian Church.
He was a radio operator for the Atlanta Fire
Department for 20 years and was a storm spotter for
the city for 30 years.
He graduated from Hartsburg-Emden High School in
1962.
Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Fire
Department, Atlanta Rescue Squad or the building
fund at Eminence Christian Church.
