The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Oasis potluck and bingo Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for
the monthly potluck, featuring hamburgers and hot dogs, salads,
special dishes, and wonderful dessert. There is no charge for food
or beverage provided at this event. If you do not bring a dish to
pass and wish to make a donation, the suggested amount for June is
our special for Father's Day: only $1. We will have entertainment
and guest speakers. The monthly lunch drawing will be from Hallie's.
Stay for bingo games sponsored by Christian Village.
June birthday party
Birthday time! The June birthdays will be celebrated at the
senior center on Monday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Come enjoy
entertainment, cake and ice cream.
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for June 17 features chicken fried chicken,
hash browns and gravy, green beans, bread and butter, and dessert.
The suggested donation is $3.75. If you stay and play cards, the
cost of the meal is $3.25. The deadline to make a reservation is
Monday noon.

Bingo at the Rec
The special for Tuesday night bingo at the Lincoln Rec Center is
"Luck of the Draw." If you pull a red card from the deck, you get 50
percent off the purchase price. If you pull a black card from the
deck, you get 25 percent off. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Early bird is
6:50.
Card winners
The winners for weekday pinochle were Lucky Eichner and Joyce
Voyles. The weekend winner was Henry Warnisher.
