ATLANTA -- Doris B. Yeast, 94, of
Atlanta, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at 11:40 p.m. at St. Clara's
Manor in Lincoln. |
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the
Atlanta United Methodist Church. The Rev. Rob Roy
will officiate. Visitation will be at
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m.
Sunday and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.
Burial will be in McLean Cemetery, rural McLean.
Mrs. Yeast and her husband farmed all their
married life.
She was born May 25, 1914, in Mount Hope
Township, McLean County, to Frank and Marie Willmert
Bode. She married DeWitt Yeast on June 2, 1935, in
McLean. He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2000.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald D. (and
Marjorie) Yeast of Atlanta and Roland E. Yeast of
Bloomington; one daughter, Kathie (and Hal)
McReynolds of Bloomington; 10 granddaughters; and 10
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers
and one sister. |
Mrs. Yeast was an active member of the Atlanta
United Methodist Church and Atlanta Home
Extension. She was a member of Order of the Eastern
Star for more than 50 years. She was a Girl Scout
leader, a 4-H leader for 20 years and taught many
girls to sew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
Atlanta United Methodist Church, Ebenezer United
Methodist Church or the National Parkinson's Disease
Foundation.
