Letters to the Editor

Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

'Village People' appreciate support

To the editor:

The Christian Village Memory Walk team, "The Village People," want to extend their thanks to the people who came to our yard sale on May 31.

Our total proceeds of $250 will go to the Alzheimer's Association-Greater Illinois Chapter.

We are well on our way to reach our goal of $1,000 for the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk, which is Sept. 20. The walk is held in Washington Park, Springfield. This is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. This inspiring event, held annually in hundreds of communities across the country, calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.

"Together, we can MOVE a nation to end Alzheimer's." For more information, go to www.alz.org/walk.

Thank you,

Pam Mulford, L.P.N.
Memory Care Unit director
The Christian Village
