Betty L. Houghton, 78, of Lincoln, died
Friday, June 27, 2008, at 2:15 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln. There is no visitation.
Mrs. Houghton retired from Wal-Mart, where she
worked in the snack bar, and from Community Action,
where she worked as a food server.
She was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Lawndale to
Clarence and Ethel Boone Jaggers. She married David
L. Houghton on Oct. 25, 1946, in Springfield. He
preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2006.
She is survived by three sons, Clarence Houghton,
David Bruce Houghton and Roy Houghton, all of
Lincoln; two daughters, Linda (and Al) Jordan of
Mountain Home, Ark., and Diane (Joe) Powers of
Lincoln; 18 grandchildren; and 22
great-grandchildren.
