The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Oasis potluck and bingo Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for
our monthly potluck, featuring baked spaghetti, salads, special
dishes and wonderful desserts. There is no charge for food or
beverage provided at this event. If you do not bring a dish to pass
and wish to make a donation, the suggested amount for May is only $1
-- special for Mother's Day. Stay for bingo games, sponsored by
Christian Village. The monthly drawing is for Rusty's.
Book club
The senior center's book club will meet Monday at 1 p.m. Come
rekindle the rewards of reading a book, and either share your
thoughts with the group or just sit back and listen to others.
Refreshments provided. Bring a friend and enjoy reading.
Tuesday's lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for May 13 features barbecued chicken, pasta
salad, corn muffins and dessert. The cost of the meal is $3.75; or,
if you stay and play cards, the cost of the meal is $3.25. The
deadline to make reservations is Monday noon.

Bingo at the Rec
The computer special for Tuesday night bingo at the Lincoln Rec
Center is "20% Bonus Night." Anyone who purchases a $20 computer
will have their winnings increased by 20 percent for any game they
win during the evening, regardless if the winning card was paper or
computer. Winnings from Wild Star and Jar Ball games are not
included. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Early bird is 6:50.
Card winners
The card winners for weekday pinochle were Kathy Roos and Helen
Cart. The weekend winner was Adam Bock. The winners at five-in-one
were Ella Lee Graney and Bernie DePuy.
