Max Cook started the first game of the season for the Heat
versus the Rochester Cannons. He was later relieved by Ryan Sloan.
The Heat went on to win the season opener 9-0. Collin Antoine, Gavin
Block and Trace Splain each had two hits in the game. The Heat 12U
then played a doubleheader away versus the Springfield Bulldogs. The
Heat ran away with this doubleheader, winning the first game 22-1
and the second game 14-4. Leading hitters for the Heat included just
about everyone.
The Heat 12U then hosted a doubleheader versus
Warrensburg-Latham. Tyler Horchem started and went the distance,
striking out 10 along the way. Cody Heidbreder went 2-for-3 in the
game. Tyler Horchem helped himself out by hitting a home run. The
Heat won the first game 7-1. Max Cook took the hill in the second
game and went 2 1/3 innings before being relieved by Ryan Sloan. The
Heat won the second game 17-7. Leading hitters for the Heat were
Tyler Horchem with 2-for-4, Cody Heidbreder 3-for-4, Trace Splain
2-for-3 and Peyton Ebelherr 3-for-3.

The Heat traveled to Bloomington Tuesday evening to play a
doubleheader versus the Astros. Ryan Sloan started on the mound for
the first game. Unfortunately, the defense collapsed behind him,
making four errors in the first four innings. The Astros took the
first game 9-6. The Heat bounced back in the second game behind
Gavin Block. Tyler Horchem went 2-for-4, Cody Heidbreder went
2-for-4 and Gavin Block went 2-for-3 as the Heat went on to win the
second game 8-3. Max Cook came on in the last inning to close out
the game.
The Monticello Mudcats made the trip to Lincoln Wednesday evening
for a doubleheader. The Heat pounded them in both games, winning the
first game 15-0 and the second game 10-0. Peyton Ebelherr threw a
no-hitter in the first game, and Joey Olden went the distance in the
second game. Grant Cooper went 2-for-3 and Joey Olden went 3-for-3
in the first game. Cody Heidbreder, Trace Splain and Peyton Ebelherr
each went 2-for-2 in the second game.
The Lincoln Heat 12U team's next game will be Saturday at Atlanta
versus Olympia and then Sunday at Warrensburg.
