The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Breakfast bingo The Oasis and Vonderlieth Living Center
will sponsor the breakfast bingo on Thursday. Doors will open at
8:30 a.m.
Food distribution
The Self Help and Resource Exchange program distribution will be
from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Oasis Senior Center. The SHARE
program is an outreach sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Peoria.

Visiting group to meet
The Meeters and Greeters group will meet on Monday at the senior
center, beginning at 2 p.m. This group of volunteers visits once a
month with those who cannot get out, adding a bright spot in their
life. If you would like to participate or would like more
information, call 732-6132.
Oasis Belles
The Oasis Red Hat group will meet on Tuesday, beginning at 11
a.m. After the meeting, lunch is available for purchase. Please call
732-6132 for a lunch reservation.
Hearing screening
Free hearing tests will be available June 4 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Joyce Dearth, B.C.H.I.S., from the Hearing Aid Center provides the
service. Service is by appointment only; call 732-6132.

Tuesday's lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for June 3 features hamburger pony shoe,
salad and dessert for a suggested donation of $3.75. If you stay and
play cards, the cost of the meal is $3.25. The deadline to make
reservations is noon Monday.
Bingo at the Rec
The computer special for Tuesday night bingo at the Lincoln Rec
Center is "Odd or Even." Each computer is numbered at the top of the
machine. First ball of the night determines odd or even, indicating
the computers eligible for a rebate. Lucky computer holders matching
the odd or even will get a cash rebate to reduce their computer cost
to $10. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Early bird is 6:50.
Card winners
The card winners for weekday pinochle were Kathy Roos and Betty
Oltmanns. The weekend winners were Helen Opperman and Charles
Anderson. The winners at five-in-one were Ella Lee Graney and Bernie
DePuy.
