Margaret
E. Deverman, 95, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at St.
Clara's Manor. |
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion
Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Visitation will be
from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Holland Barry and Bennett
Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service
Monday at the church.
Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Deverman was a retired nurse. She served as
operating room supervisor for Deaconess Hospital and
general duty nurse at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital for more than 40 years. She was previously
employed as a registered nurse at Monmouth College
for two years.
She was born Dec. 25, 1912, in Lincoln to Adolph
Yagow and Anna Mahler. She married Herbert Deverman
on Feb. 14, 1943. He preceded her in death on Feb.
12, 2005.
She is survived by her son, Allen (and wife
Sandra) Deverman of Maryland; her daughter, Claire
(and husband Edward) Koehler of Lincoln; her sister,
Norma Burmeister of Danville; four grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church
in Lincoln and served on the church Altar Guild. |
She was a 1931 graduate of Lincoln Community High
School and a 1935 graduate of the registered nursing
program at Deaconess Hospital in Lincoln. She
graduated in 1936 from Barnes Hospital in St. Louis,
Mo., in operating technique.
Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran
Church or Zion Lutheran School.
