Letters to the Editor

Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

HardwareTo the editor:

As members of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 31, Local 1277, we want to thank the community for their support during our fall fundraiser for bath aide services for low-income senior citizens.

A check will be presented to the Logan County Department of Public Health for the "Personal Care Service Program." Funding generated will allow certified nurses' aides to provide bath services to those who need, but cannot afford, the necessity. Community donations continue to be accepted throughout the year for this program.

Thanks to the staff of the Lincoln IGA for their helpfulness at the sandwich sale. Thanks to the union members of the Logan County Department of Public Health who volunteered their time and energy on a Saturday to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve.

Susie Billington and Mary Anderson
AFSCME Council 31, Local 1277
