[November 07, 2008]  The Lincoln College volleyball season came to an end Wednesday evening with a three-set loss to Parkland College. Parkland was the top seed in Region 24-A, and they defeated the No. 4-seeded Lady Lynx 25-6, 25-13, 25-11.

Lincoln finishes the season with a record of 27 wins and 17 losses.

LC totals:

  • Stephanie Dziengel -- 4 set assists

  • Gretchen Rieger -- 4 kills, 10 digs

  • Chelsea Barr -- 5 digs

  • Jenna Luck -- 7 kills, 8 digs, 4 points

"I was not disappointed in our effort (Wednesday), but we just ran into a very strong team that did not make any mistakes," said LC coach Mark Tippett. "We battled hard on every point, and despite the lopsided scores, I did not sense that we ever got down on each other or gave up. Parkland's height advantage and quickness were too much for us (Wednesday night), and they showed that they deserved the No. 1 ranking. It's always tough to end your season with a loss, but I was proud of the way our players represented themselves and our school. Overall, I feel as though we had another successful season, and I enjoyed working with this group of players a great deal."
