Mrs. West died May 2, 2008, at 2:16 p.m. at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Her body was cremated.
She retired from Lincoln Garment Factory.
She was born March 12, 1918, in Mason County to
Stephen and Blanche Holmes Southern. She married
John W. West on Jan. 13, 1940, in Bowling Green, Mo.
He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2000.
She is survived by one brother, Jack (and Wanda
L.) Southern of Bemus Point, N.Y., one nephew and
four nieces.
Another brother, Don Southern, preceded her in
death.
She was a member of Beason United Methodist
Church.
