Hilma McHaney

[October 23, 2008]  Hilma V. Bruce McHaney, 87, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at 11:40 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Lincoln Christian Church. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at the church, with Marge Iden and Ron Otto co-officiating.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mrs. McHaney retired from Kraft Foods in Champaign.

She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Broadwell to Eddie T. and Lila Shobe Bruce. She married Raymond Gerald McHaney on Oct. 30, 1936, in Clinton. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2005.

She is survived by one daughter, Annette (and Jim) Billington of Lincoln; one brother, Edward Bruce of Normal; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Duane McHaney; two sisters, Wilma McCubbin (her twin) and Edna Bratcher; and one brother, Dean Bruce.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and the Christian Corner class and Jolly Seniors group of the church.

Memorials may be made to Christian Village or Harvest of Talents.
