The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension service to sponsor bingo The Logan County
Extension Unit will sponsor bingo at the senior center on Thursday,
beginning at 1 p.m. Come win nutritional items.
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the
library at The Oasis. No reservation is necessary. The group
provides support and information for caregivers and extended family
and is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Memories class
The monthly Memories class is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Thursday in
the senior center's library. Participants are asked to bring their
own pen and paper to learn skills needed to preserve memories for
families and friends
Oasis board meeting
The Oasis board of directors is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m.
Thursday. The meeting is open to the public. To schedule any agenda
items, the board must receive notification in writing on or before
the fifth day of the month prior to a meeting date.
Free blood pressure checking
The senior center offers free checking of blood pressure every
Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Bunco
Bunco is scheduled for Monday, beginning at 1 p.m., at the senior
center.
Tuesday lunch
There will be no Tuesday lunch program for Sept. 23, but it will
resume the following week.

New card game
The Oasis is looking for euchre players. Euchre is offered every
Wednesday, beginning at 10 a.m.
Senior bowling
Looking to have some fun, socialize with others and get a little
exercise? Come join The Oasis to bowl at Logan Lanes. If you are
interested in this type of activity, contact Georgina Tisdale at
732-6132.
How about an art class?
Have you always thought it would be fun to learn to paint
something special rather then that old picket fence? The senior
center is offering a beginning class Oct. 1. For more information,
call 732-6132.
Oasis fall card party
The senior center's fall card party will be on Oct. 4 from 1 to 4
p.m. Tickets are available for $5 at the senior center.
Card winners
The winners for weekday pinochle were Doris Steffens and Bonnie
Schulmeister. The weekend winners were Jean Cypher and Wally
Reifsteck. The five-in-one winner was Betty Burger.
