Cops: Shooting in Buffalo leaves 2 dead, 3 wounded

[August 05, 2009]  BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Police say two people are dead and three others are in serious condition after an early morning shooting outside a home in Buffalo.

Police spokesman Michael DeGeorge says a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were killed in the shooting around 2 a.m. Wednesday in a neighborhood on Buffalo's east side.

DeGeorge says the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say two other women and a man, all in their 20s, were believed to have been shot while sitting in a vehicle. DeGeorge says all three are reported in serious condition at a Buffalo hospital.

The names of the victims haven't been released.

Police say the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
