Harold "Bub" Harris, 76, of Sunrise
Beach, Mo., formerly of Lincoln, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at
Laurie Care Center in Laurie, Mo.

His graveside service will be at Harmony Cemetery, rural
Beason, on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 10 a.m. Father James
Cravens will officiate. No visitation is scheduled.
Peasley Funeral Home
is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harris and his wife, Elaine, owned Harris's
Gold Mine Tavern in Lincoln for many years. He later
worked for J&S Auto Centre in Lincoln. He and his
wife moved to Missouri in 1995.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was born Sept. 27, 1932, in Grandview, Ind., a
son of James and Beulah Rose Harris Sr. He married
Elaine Hart on Dec. 31, 1951, at the Harmony United
Methodist Church, rural Beason.
He is survived by his wife; his children, Shelley
(and Jim) Horn of Atlanta and Harold "Bill" Harris
of Springfield; his brothers and sisters, James (and
Ardie) Harris Jr. of Gravois Mills, Mo., Laura
Slayton of Lincoln, Faye Jones (and Glenn "PeeWee"
Helton) of Gravois Mills, Mo., Aaron (and Pat)
Harris of Springfield, Eva (and Larry) Hill of
Lincoln and Kay Petro of Lincoln; one stepgrandson,
Kyle (and Mary) Horn of Peoria; and many nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
While in Lincoln he loved hunting, fishing and
golfing. At the lake he enjoyed watching deer, birds
and other animals.
