Donna's interest in quilting is a hometown story in that she was
inspired by her grandmother, who was a quilter and whose sewing
machine sits in the store's front window. The store was named
after Abe Lincoln and the log cabin quilt block. The traditional log
cabin quilt begins with a red center block to represent the hearth
of the home or heart of the family.
The Beckes have many interesting things planned for 2010,
including classes. Donna has learned to "keep it simple, start
small, look for new ideas, and try, try, try again.
Main Street Lincoln is happy to have another hometown family
start a new business in the Courthouse Square Historic District.
Others welcomed are Ed and Rhonda Malkowski at the Owl's Roost,
Melissa Hyde and stylists at Absolute Harmony and Day Spa. The
organization is also pleased to have AAA Siding and Roofing and
Dickson's Tacos and More on Kickapoo Street.
