On November 19, 2008, The Board
of Education voted unanimously to put a tax increase
question on the April 7, 2009 ballot.
The need for additional resources
has been brought about by many factors. Each year our
expenses increase by 6 to 8 percent while the money we take
in from local, state and federal sources remains flat or has
been declining.
There is going to
be a public meeting in Middletown at the school on
March 4, 2009 at
6:30 and another one at the old
grade school in
New Holland on March 12, 2009 at 6:30pm.
These are
informational meetings for the people of the community.
Even though the economy is unstable and life is challenging
we need to determine what is in the best interests for the
children! Isn't this a small price to pay
to keep our
school open and to allow our children to receive the
education they deserve. NH-M offers a lot for our children
and with small class sizes they receive a great education,
just check out our 2008 ISAT scores! We are tied for 1st
in the district. They are even able to get the one on one
when needed.
Please vote YES
on April 7th to keep NHM #88 open.
Paid for by
citizens of S.O.S. (Save our School) committee.
