John 'Vince' Beggs Jr.

[February 24, 2009]  CLINTON -- John Vincent "Vince" Beggs Jr., 78, of Clinton, died Feb. 14, 2009, at 5:27 p.m. at his home.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at Ashland City Cemetery, Ashland.

Cremation rites were accorded.

Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Beggs retired from State Farm Insurance.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Vince was born March 2, 1930, in Springfield to John Vincent and Josephine Parkhurst Beggs Sr.

He is survived by several cousins. He was the last member of his immediate family.

He was a member of Beason United Methodist Church.

He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1952.

Memorials may be made to Beason United Methodist Church or Illinois Wesleyan University.
