Agriculture futures mostly drop on the CBOT

[February 28, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures mostly dropped Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery lost 3.5 cents to $5.215 a bushel, and May corn shed 11.5 cents to $3.59 a bushel. May oats slipped 0.5 cent to $1.94 a bushel, but May soybeans added 3.5 cents to $8.72 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle gained 0.10 cent to 85.92 cents a pound, while April feeder cattle edged up 0.02 cent to 93.87 cents a pound. April lean hogs added 1.93 cent to 60.90 cents a pound, while May pork bellies climbed 2.07 cents to 79.82 cents a pound.
