Ralph F. Eimer, 84, of Lincoln, died
Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, following a
prayer service at 4:45 p.m.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Family
Church, with the Rev. Jeff Laible officiating. |
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, where
military rites will be conducted by Lincoln Legion
Post 263. Mr. Eimer retired from farming west of
Lincoln. He was a Pioneer seed corn salesman for 20
years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947.
He was born July 5, 1924, in Lincoln to George
and Edith Faul Eimer. He married Joyce E. Johnson on
Sept. 4, 1948, in Waukegan. She preceded him in
death on Nov. 27, 2008.
He is survived by two sons, Larry (and Connie)
Eimer of Greenview and Steve (and Donna) Eimer of
Lincoln; two daughters, Nancy Eimer (and Tod Grober)
of Oxford, Miss., and Lori (and Ron) Boyer of
Lincoln; two sisters, Louise (and William) Hardin of
Atlanta and Frances (and William) Reichle of
Lincoln; one brother, Harold (and Pat) Eimer of
Lincoln; seven grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter,
Judy Schmidt. |
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of
Lincoln. He served on the Middletown school board,
Burton View Co-op elevator board, St. Mary’s
Cemetery board, Health Improvement Association board
and the Logan County Farm Bureau board.
He was an avid fan of the Cubs and Illini.
Memorials may be made to Memorial Home Services
Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
