Mary Jane Fielder

[January 19, 2009]  Mary Jane Fielder, 92, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

The family had a private memorial service at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home on Monday.

Mrs. Fielder was a retired teacher. She had taught many places, ending at Wheeling High School in Wheeling.

She was born Dec. 5, 1916, in Tacoma, Wash., to William Jackson Roberts and Caroline Odell Wilmore. She married Howard Joseph Fielder on June 15, 1943, in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1992.

She is survived by three sons, David Robert Fielder of California, Kenneth Howard Fielder of Montana and Thomas James Fielder of California; one daughter, Carolyn Ann Hinthorn of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

She was a member of Delta Alpha Gamma, Mu Sigma Delta and Pi Gamma Mu sororities. She was very active in Girl Scouts, earning the prestigious Mariner distinction.

Memorial donations in her honor may be made to Memorial Home Hospice or Lincoln Christian Church.
