Dean Aeilts

[January 26, 2009]  Dean Frederick Aeilts, 69, of Lincoln, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at 11:55 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Laible officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Aeilts was the chief probation officer for Logan County for 40 years.

He was born Jan. 27, 1939, in Lincoln to Fred and Irene Taylor Aeilts. He married Mary Loobey on May 1, 1975, in Peoria.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; two sons, Randy Aeilts of Auburn and Rick (and Susie) Aeilts of Champaign; one daughter, Candace Bennis of Lincoln; one brother, Ernie Aeilts of Lincoln; and six grandchildren, Breann, Hannah, Audrey and Joseph Aeilts, Gage Ealey, and Emilee Donley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jay Aeilts.

He attended Holy Family Church with his wife.

He was a member of Lincoln Lodge 210.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Carroll Catholic School or the donor's choice.
