Larry Hatfield

[July 09, 2009]  Larry L. Hatfield, 69, of Lincoln, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at his home.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hatfield retired from Caterpillar after many years with the company.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was born Nov. 7, 1939, in Divernon to Earl and Florene Strohkirch Hatfield. He married Rachel Greathouse on Oct. 9, 1959, in Lincoln. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2004.

He is survived by three sons, Donald Lloyd Hatfield Sr. of Lincoln, David Hatfield of Lincoln and Darrell Hatfield of Buckeye, Ariz.; one daughter, Marsha Evans of Lincoln; two sisters, Jan VanBibber and Vicky Farley, both of Lincoln; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gary Hatfield; and one grandson, Dwayne Hatfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
