Delores M. "Dee" Ebel, 81, of Lincoln,
died peacefully at The Christian Village on Saturday, July 25, 2009,
at 8 p.m.
Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Friday, July 31, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Zion
Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. David Ramirez
officiating. |
Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Mrs. Ebel was a
homemaker and musician.
She was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Columbus, Neb., to
Herman J. and Anna S. Roesche Cattau. She married
Walther Ebel on Nov. 30, 1947, at Columbus, Neb. He
preceded her in death on March 13, 2003.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Ebel of
Lincoln and Libby (and husband Jay) Anderson of
Naperville; one granddaughter, Jennifer (and
Richard) Pomrenke of Mobile, Ala.; and one
great-grandson, Airman 1st Class Christopher
Pomrenke of Hurlburt Field, Fla.
She was also preceded in death by one son, John
Dana Ebel; one brother; and two sisters. She was the
last of her immediate family.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in
Lincoln, where she was choir director and organist
for many years, a member of the music committee and
Ladies Aid. She attended Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church when she and her husband lived in Rochester
and Trinity Lutheran Church when they lived in
Springfield. |
She was also a member of the Lincoln Land Concert
Association, Lincoln Musical Arts, Cache Club of
Springfield, Monday Book Club, and bridge clubs in
Rochester, Springfield and Lincoln. She was a member
of the Note-A-Belles vocal group for many years.
Dee was a talented musician and sang and played
for many funerals and weddings since high school.
She sang with the Schola Cantorum under Dr. Hoelty-Nickel
at Valparaiso University.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in
Lincoln.
