Mr. Lawrence was a lawyer.
As a solo practitioner in downtown Aurora for most
of his career, he handled everything from civil
litigation to criminal defense work.
He was born June 9, 1938, in Oak Park to Edith
Norman Lawrence and George Richard Lawrence.
In addition to his sister, Nancy (and Gerald)
Gehlbach of rural Lincoln, he is survived by two
daughters, Deborah (and Joseph) Kovarik of Olathe,
Kan., and Heather Lawrence of Irvine, Calif.; his
son and caregiver, Bradley Lawrence of Sugar Grove;
three grandchildren, Hannah and Hayden Kovarik and
Tyler Knudson; and nephews Scott (and Maria)
Gehlbach, Brian (and Krista) Gehlbach and David
Shaff.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of the Kane County Bar
Association for over 45 years.
He was also an avid recreational sailor and
private pilot.
He graduated from Hinsdale Township High School
in 1956, the University of Illinois in 1960 and the
University of Illinois College of Law in 1962.
