Henry Victor Pelc, 85, of Lincoln, died
with his family at his side on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at 2:30 p.m.
at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at St.
Mary's Cemetery, with the Rev. John Pham officiating. Military rites
will be conducted by American Legion Post 263 of Lincoln. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Mr. Pelc retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1982
after 27 years of employment at the Decatur plant.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War
II. He served from 1943 until 1947 and was stationed
in Alaska.
He was born March 6, 1923, in Lincoln to Polish
immigrants John and Antonia Rudzienski Pelc. He
married Edna M. Hunter on July 12, 1960, and she
preceded him in death on July 18, 2008.
He is survived by two stepsons, Stewart W. (and
Paula) Hamblin of Kewanee and Kevin (and Dianna)
Hamblin of Lincoln; two stepgrandchildren, Jamie
Hamblin and Jeremy Hamblin; and two brothers, Joseph
Pelc of Lincoln and John (and Mineva) Pelc of
Lincoln.
He was also preceded in death by one brother,
Edward Pelc. |
He was a member of Holy Family Church and American
Legion Post 263.
After retiring he enjoyed photography and
vacationing in Florida.
He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940 and
then attended Lincoln College.
Memorials may be made to Hopedale Medical
Complex.
