The 2008-2009 campaign goal for
the United Way of Logan County is $90,000. They are currently at 64
percent of the goal, with some divisions yet to report. Lois
Leonard, United Way coordinator, says she expects the division
leaders to submit a final report in the next week or two.

"Considering the present economy, we understand the low percentage
of contributions thus far," Leonard said. "However, our agencies
have the need for funding even more in a time of an economic crunch.
If everyone in Logan County who has not yet contributed would send
us $1, we could easily achieve our goal and more."
The theme that the United Way of America has suggested to the
local chapter is "Live United."
"Residents of Logan County must realize that it is your family,
friends and neighbors who are the ones who benefit from your
contributions," Leonard said. "We must all unite in the
effort to assist our family, friends and neighbors through the
following funded agencies: American Red Cross, Boy Scouts of
America, Catholic Charities, Community Action Nutrition and
Transportation, Epilepsy Resource Center, Girl Scouts of Central
Illinois, Lincoln Pastoral Counseling Services, Logan Mason
Rehabilitation Center, Pregnancy Resource Center, The Oasis senior
center, T.O.U.C.H., United Cerebral Palsy and the Lincoln YMCA."
Your inquiries and contributions may be directed to the United
