MOUNT PULASKI -- Raymond Landholt, 88,
of Springfield, formerly of Mount Pulaski, died Sunday, Nov. 1,
2009, at 1:08 a.m. at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield.
His funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with
Bill Shanle officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. |

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Camp Butler
National Cemetery, Springfield, where military rites
will be conducted. Mr. Landholt owned and operated
a furniture reupholstery shop on the Mount Pulaski
square for 30 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was born May 20, 1921, in Springfield to John
and Bertha Dowart Landholt. He married Viola Sarius
in Jacksonville on June 22, 1950. She preceded him
in death on Nov. 20, 1980.
He is survived by one granddaughter, Hilah
Williams of Springfield; one great-nephew, James
(and Teena) Landholt of Springfield; one
great-niece, Laura Landholt of Springfield; several
great-grandchildren; and several great-great-nieces
and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one son and two
brothers.
He was of the Lutheran faith. |
Ray was member of Mount Pulaski American Legion Post
447 and the Railsplitter Auto Club of Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
American Kidney Foundation.
