Carol A. Ross, 66, of Lincoln, died
Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at 12:25 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital. |
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral
home, with Tim Searby officiating.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Ross was a retired English teacher from
Lincoln Community High School.
She was born May 8, 1943, at Elgin to Byron and
Martha Nelson Kolling. She married Ronald Ross on
Jan. 26, 1963, in Mendota.
She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; one
son, Rory (and Heather) Ross of Naperville; three
daughters, Robin (and Chris) Wilimitis of
Plainfield, Rachel (and Andrew) Segneri of
Bloomington and Ronda Ross of Oakland, Calif.; one
sister, Judy (and Donald) Schrieber of
Carpentersville; and seven grandchildren, Alec and
Kailee Ross, Luke, Drew and Lydia Wilimitis, and
Noah and Isabel Segneri.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.
She was devoted to her family, a proud
grandmother and a loyal friend. As a wife, she
formed a special bond and love with her husband
during a marriage that spanned 46 years. As a mom,
she left a living presence in all her children. She
enjoyed family gatherings where she could interact
in a loving relationship with her seven
grandchildren. |
She was an avid Cubs fan and frequented many a game
with her husband and her children's families.
She was a dedicated and talented teachers' bridge
club and tennis club member. She was a supporter of
the Humane Society of Logan County and over the
years loved many a feline friend.
She will be dearly missed by all she has touched
with her inspiration and love.

Logan County or the American Cancer Society.
