Carol 'Cookie' Mielke

[November 12, 2009]  Carol Ann "Cookie" Mielke, 62, of Spring Hill, Fla., formerly of Lincoln, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at HPH Hospice Care Center, Brooksville, Fla.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the First Baptist Church of Lincoln, with the Rev. David Comstock officiating.

Mrs. Mielke was employed by Lincoln Developmental Center and Logan-Mason Rehabilitation Center for 25 years.

She was born Dec. 9, 1946, in Lincoln to Victor R. and Laura F. Hunt Snyder. She married Robert Mielke on Nov. 17, 1972.

She is survived by her husband, of Spring Hill, Fla.; one daughter, Catherine "Kate" Mielke (and fiance Joseph Tiemann) of Spring Hill, Fla.; one sister, Norma Comstock of Lincoln; one brother, Elmer Snyder of Lincoln; eight nephews and nieces; and numerous great- and great-great-nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt who gave of herself and her possessions to anyone who had need. The world is a better place because of her time on earth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
